ABOUT  SOPHIA

For over the last decade I have collated a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with materials and techniques covering a wide range of creative fields. The years spent as a principal technician to several International artists, teaching classes and workshops, practicing as an artist and continuously supplementing my studies has proven invaluable to working as a prop maker and a problem solver. My dogged fascination and curiosity for learning new and different ways in which we can build, make and create objects has given me great pleasure over the years.

My background is in fine art. On completing a BETEC National Diploma in Art & Design at City of Bristol College in 2007 I moved to Venice where I studied classical fine art at The Liceo Institute of Classical Art for 3 years. My studies led me to Barcelona, where I joined a 1-year Contemporary Arts Program at Metafora’s International Contemporary School. I remained in Barcelona practicing as a sculpture artist for the next 5 years. I was represented by an international gallery, where I regularly exhibited and took part in European art fairs.

Since 2012 I have been based with a studio in east London. I specialize in sculpting, taxidermy and prop making. Working freelance, I range from individual commissions too much larger assignments for established props companies such as MDM Props.

So if you have a project in mind or a specific commission that you need a hand with, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I can help bring your ideas to life, from the initial creative process to its final polish.
